Do you offer a taster class?

Yes, we offer one taster class at the cost of the class. This allows your child to try the class before signing up, during the taster class our coaches will also asses to ensure that your child is joining the correct level class for their ability. Once you have attended the taster class your child's space is held for 5 days, booking must be completed within these 5 days or the space will become vacant again.

What should my child wear?

Gymnasts must wear clothing suitable for physical activity (no jeans, crop tops or skirts) and no socks allowed. 

Long hair must be tied back and all jewellery removed (including earrings).

Gymnasts should also bring a water bottle to every class.

It is advised to wear slip on shoes that can be easily taken off and placed in the cubby holes at the start of your child's class. 

It is recommend that once your child has attended a few weeks and is committed to the sport that they wear a leotard to their classes. Gymnasts can wear short or leggings with their leotard.

During colder months it is advised that gymnasts wear a tracksuit into the gym over their leotard for the warm up. 

Solent Gymnastics Club leotards and additional kit is available to purchase from the club. These items are optional.

Can I watch my child's class?

We have a viewing room available where parents can see what their child is getting up to in the gym via our 4K camera system linked to a large screen. 

​We hold viewing sessions throughout the year so you can see what we have been achieving within our classes. We also hold regular events such as competitions and displays providing gymnasts the opportunity to showcase their skills and improvements to friends and family.

Strictly no photography or videoing allowed within the facility without permission as per our safeguarding policy. 

What is Club membership and British Gymnastics membership?

Club membership:

This is an annual payment is included in your first payment upon joining the club and renewed each September. Club membership helps us to maintain and improve the clubs equipment and facility for our members.

British Gymnastics membership:

As a registered British Gymnastics club, every member must hold current British Gymnastics membership. This is their personal insurance with the national governing body.

This must be in place after your child's initial taster class, payment is made directly to them upon registration and must be renewed each year.
